Objectives;a the end of the session,the children through their drawings and sharing of stories,would be able to;
1}Discover that they have common experiences,feelings and fear during the armed conflict and they are are not alone.
2}:Appreciate the presence of people,the events and situation that contribute to their feelings of safety and security.
3}Build a trusting atmosphere between and among the children and the facilitators..

The Activity was Critical Incident Stress Debriefing for Children{Drawing}
Participants were children between age 9-12 and 13-17 years old and number of participants were 30 children,with two facilitators.They were divided into two groups.

The activity started with a opening prayer by a volunteer in the group,after the facilitators opens up the activity by giving the followings;Names of the De briefer,Organization,Objectives of the activity,Surface expectations and process rules{particularly on confidentiality}The facilitators ensure to get the consent of the children to join the activity and they excepted.After the facilitators introduce an ice breaker that when with a song,they explain its meaning and message,it was a peace song.

The facilitators introduce and explain the activity{drawing}materials were distributed and we were told to draw any of our experiences as much as we could remember from our place until we reached the evacuation center.After 45mintues of drawing,we were asked to what did each of us draw?Who were the persons involved in our drawing?and what does it means?What did we remember as we were drawing it?and how do we feel?Each and everyone was given a time to share.I was acting as a 11years old child.After we have a group picture and the session ended with a song and closing prayer.Snacks were given to the children with soft drinks,after we left for iligan after our meal.

Greetings from Iligan City,the Philippiness.On the 8th of September 2009 I visited on of thye rebel areas,Baloi.I went to about five Baragaies.We when with a motor biycle,left Iligan City by 6am.The major problem for the people is there's no road to get their farm produces to the market,cause of that,they perfer to be with the rebels.I talk with some of them and they said if there is a road to get their produces to market there is no need to be part of the rebels.The farmers appeal for fertilizers to help there crops grow better and faster.I visited most of the school in the Barangaies.The poeple there are muslims and very poor.One of the schools host 400students with only four class rooms.They have to sit under the trees for some classes.Another school I visited had 1,600pupils and one computer without internet service.They apeal for more class rooms and some computers to be able to give the pupils some coputer knowledge.Another school host about 200pupils with only four rooms.There was a clinic there before,but up to daye no clinic,they also appeal for additional class rooms and renovation of the old clinic.

The next dat on the 9th of September I was invited at the Mindanao State University of Technology,College of Arts and Social Sicences at the Department of Political Science as a speaker.I spoke with two classes for a hour each.They wanted to know more Africa interms of politics,economy,government and natural resources,also my personal life,my family,silbings and the rest and my experiances as a child soldier.I was awarded a certificate of participation and a lamter.Hopefully I leave for another rebel area on Sunday the 13th of September,than for Combodia on the 20th of September for a week to attain the youth peace confereances,about 250 youths from around the world will be present,mainly former child soldiers and youth from conflict areas.

Visit to Napo
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

On the 31th of August,i visited Napo to talk with the Children ages 5 to 14.Napo is a very poor community,one of the communities that suffered from three disasters,two were flash foods in 1999 and Feb.7th 2008,and also the August 18th 2008 attacked my the Moro Liberation Front.Due to the flask flood most of the buildings now are constructed on the hills,about 35 children were present for the presentation,most of them did experiences the disasters.Napo has only a daycare and one elementary school, no high school or college.The presentations were done in drawings,part one was about their past experiences and part two about what they hope for in the future.My host took alone a realm of sheets and 8pcks of crayons.The kids first introduced theirs elf,i also did
and told them the purposes of my visit was to know about there past experiences and also to hear what they hope for in the future.After they sang beautiful songs about peace and hope for a better future were they can lived without fear and a better lives and grow up as normal kids.

How can one put smile on the faces of these children?Some of the kids drawn houses,people running on the streets,i asked why?She said the houses were those that were flash away by the flood and brunt by the rebels.People running on the street represented the time they were attacked.What she hopes for in the future is no more war and to have a better education.Some drawn houses flash away by the flood and people climbing trees for safety.He still suffered from flashbacks up to date about what he saw,and he looks forward for no more war and flood and that of a better education.since there is no high school and college in Napo,most of the kids end up as child laborers.One of the kids hope for a future were people will stop cutting trees and plant them.One of the kids drawn men in arms,why?His father was one of the members of the Napo defense force that assisted the military doing the attacked,she told me she was praying nothing happens to her father doing the attacked.One of the kids drawn boats and wounded people laying on the beach,he and his family used boats to escape by the sea coast,it was his first time to see people hit by bullets.Most of the kids hope for peace and a better education.

No scholarship program for them and their parents find it very difficult to get them in school.A kid in Napo needs about $30 for her studies for a year.Most of their parents are farmers and fishermen.Mothers are housewives.One of the kids was about 7yrs doing the flood,she could still remember she and her mother
were in the water for about 5hours before they were rescued.After,I told them little of my experiences as a child soldier.After i was taken to the plastic waste company,just a simple one were people of the community find source of living.they pick used plastic on the street and sell to the company by kilos
